Mr. Tony Elumelu and Alhaji Aliko Dangote have been nominated for the Forbes Africa Person of the Year 2012. Three other nominees are Dr. James Mwangi, Joyce Banda and Stephen Saad. According to the statement issued by Forbes, "the Forbes Africa Person of the Year has announced the top five candidates for this year's title." The statement added that the winner of this award would have had an influence on the events of the year gone by on the African continent and encouraged all and sundry to vote for whom they believe deserves the title.
