Justice Adekeye retires

ABUJA – Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Aloma Mariam Mukhtar, will, Wednesday, conduct a valedictory court session in honour of Justice Olufun-lola Adekeye, who retires from the Supreme Court.

In a statement in Abuja Sunday, the apex court said the event will hold at the main court auditorium of the Supreme Court.

A statement by the Deputy Director, Press and Information, Supreme Court of Nigeria, Festus Akande, said: "Hon. Justice Adekeye clocks the mandatory retirement age of 70 years on October 28.

"She became a High Court Judge in June 1987 and was elevated to the Court of Appeal Bench in November, 1998.

"She was the Presiding Justice in the Ilorin Division of Court of Appeal between 2008 and 2009; and was appointed a Justice of the Supreme Court on March 12, 2009.
