General Overseer of The Lord's Chosen Charismatic Revival Ministry, with headquarters at Ijesha Bus Stop, Oshodi-Apapa Expressway, Lagos, Pastor Lazarus Muoka, in this fifth part of his series of exhortation, warns of the danger of hell fire, to which sinners are eternally sentenced. Excerpts:
Mark 9: 45-48 says "And if thy foot offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter halt into life, than having two feet to be cast into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched 46 Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched 47 And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out: it is better for thee to enter into the kingdom of God with one eye, than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire: 48 Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched "
Beloved, Hell Fire is real. All we are saying here is not an imaginary story; it is not a romantic episode or historical fiction. That is why we are taking time to warn you not to indulge in anything that can lead you there. In the Hell Fire, there is no water, food, peace, leisure or joy forever and ever.
Your suffering in this world for righteousness is for a short time. All those things you are lacking are just for a while. People mocking you because of poverty, affliction, sickness or because you are a born-again Christian are just doing it for a short period. The Bible says that the world passes away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.
All the pleasures of the world, which the men of the world struggle for, and are in love with, are of a fading transitory nature in themselves, and they pass away from their possessors and owners. And the pleasure which they had in gratifying their lusts passes away, but the sting remains, and the torment abides forever.
Having this knowledge now, it is very prudent to abhor everything that could lead us to Hell Fire. The duties prescribed in the verses above are, pluck out the eye, cut off the hand and foot, mortify the darling lust, kill it, crucify it, starve it, and make no provision for it. Let the idols in your life be cast away as detestable things; keep at a distance from that which is a temptation, no matter how pleasing it may be.
The part that is wounded which has become a threat to the entire life must be cut off, lest the parts that are sound be corrupted. We must put ourselves to pain, that we may not bring ourselves to ruin; self must be denied, that it may not be destroyed. This is because sin is inexcusable and all unrighteousness is sin.
The Lord Jesus Christ warned that nothing defiles shall enter into the kingdom of God. Bribery is sin, prostitution is an abomination. So also smoking, smuggling, snuffing 'snuff' or cocaine; stealing, bleaching and painting of the body in the name of beauty are all abomination in the sight of God.
That person you call your girl/boy/woman/ man friend is nothing but your sin partner. He or she is a rope that is pulling you into the hell fire. So disengage yourself now before it becomes too late and you cry 'had I known'. That lie you lied to cover up your evil act is part of the firewood that will burn you in hell fire.
The danger of not heeding this warning is having everlasting rendezvous with Satan in Hell Fire. If we do not kill sin now, sin will kill us later. If we ignore the danger, it will destroy us; if we be ruled by sin, we shall inevitably be ruined by it; if we must keep our two hands, and two eyes, and two feet, we must with them be cast into hell. Our Saviour often pressed our duty upon us, from the consideration of the torments of hell, which we run ourselves into if we continue in sin.
He described the place as, 'Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched'. The emphasis of terror in these words repeated three times, is to drive in the truth of the matter into our consciousness. In the scripture's text about Lazarus and the Richman, Luke 16: 24, the Bible says, "And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame".
For more than 2000 years, our Lord Jesus Christ told us this story till date, the rich man has not been given a drop of water to quench his taste nor has he eaten food. For more than 2000 years, he is still under the torment of Hell Fire, and there is no hope of respite forever and ever. The scripture was written by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, for instruction in righteousness, correction, good conduct and above all to guide us out of the danger of Hell Fire.
If you read this, do not harden your heart. Hell Fire is a horrible place. Was the rich man warned? YES; so also you who are reading this book now, you are warned. Remember, when the rich man realized that it was his disobedient that brought him into Hell Fire, he quickly requested Abraham to go and preach to his brethren that were in the world, so that they would avoid Hell Fire.
Not that there was no preacher then but it was because their preaching was not heeded to. Even today we have preachers warning every ear that hears that Hell Fire is in existence, but many have chosen to be adamant perhaps for the things of this world.
The warning trumpets are blowing every second of the hour, the question now is whether you who is reading this book, have heard the warning. Luke 16:24-31 says, "And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame. But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented. And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence. Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father's house: For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment. Abraham saith unto him, they have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them. And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent. And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead."
Nobody will come from Hell or Heaven to preach to you to be convinced and repent. If you ignore the warning, you have only yourself to blame. Revelation 21:8 warns, "But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death." Pay attention; all liars an whore mongers that are into fornication, adultery, stealing, abortion and hatred shall be burnt in the lake of Hell Fire.
Are you into wrong marriage, either as second wife or husband, please disengage yourself immediately before it is too late. Return to your first wife or husband, for God hates separation. Are you in cult and believe that you have protection. Do you think that those that are born again are fools and you are wise? Or are you stealing with gun or pen and are dispossessing people of their goods and money? Do you think the wicked will not be cast into Hell Fire? If you think so, then, you are in a serious danger. And unless you repent, you shall likewise perish at the end of this life. Beware; be warned, Hell Fire is a place of torment, a horrible and terrible place.
It is a place of thirst, hunger and everlasting punishment. It is folly to desire to be there. Our Lord Jesus Christ, the embodiment of Truth, iterated and emphasized the danger of Hell Fire in almost all His teachings. Hence, we must not ignore this Truth and allow anybody to deceive us with fables and vain philosophies.
