The Ogun State Police Command has arrested eight suspected armed robbers in Idologbo Village, Agbara.
The spokesperson for the state police command, Muyiwa Adejobi, told PUNCH Metro on Sunday that the suspects were arrested at their hideout on Saturday evening.
Adejobi said weapons were also recovered from them, adding that they had been taken to the State Criminal Investigation Department, state command headquarters, Eleweran.
He said, "A team of anti robbery policemen attached to the State Criminal Investigation Department led by SP Fola Ogunkoya, working on a tip off, launched an attack on the robbers' den at about 4am on Saturday and got them arrested
"Items recovered from them comprise one pump action rifle, two double-barreled guns, one locally made pistol and some ammunition.
"It would be recalled that the command had vowed to make Ogun State hot for hoodlums by embracing robust intelligence gathering and Police/ Public Partnership; and embarking on constant raid of black spots all over the state in a bid to get the state rid of criminals."
