Isoko group declares for APC, mourns Ewherido
Jul 8th 2013, 23:06, by SEBASTINE EBHUOMHAN

The Isoko Political Front, IPF, has resolved to pitch its tent with the yet-to-be-registered All Progressives Congress, APC. In a communiqué issued at the end of a meeting at Ozoro, the headquarters of Isoko North Local Government in Delta State and made available to journalists in Benin yesterday, IPF said it adopted the position because of imperativeness of all progressive-minded groups to embrace the wind of political change blowing across the country.

IPF is a socio-political pressure group of Isoko Progressive Forces, which allied with the Democratic Peoples Party, DPP, during the last governorship election in Delta State. The communiqué was signed by the National Secretary of IPF, Prof. Isaac Adakpo and Deputy National Secretary, Mr. Dillion Oyuwe.

It reads in part: "Arising from recent national political developments leading to the coalescence of the progressive forces nation-wide, it becomes imperative for the Isoko to identify with the progressive political movement wind of change across the nation.

"Consequently, IPF rising from its general session held today, Sunday, 7th July 2013 formally endorse the All Progressives Congress, APC, as the vehicle for Isoko political expression and liberation. "IPF thus hereby directs all Isoko sons and daughters, youths, market women, professional groups and associations to register en-masse with the APC."
