AC Milan say they will wait as long as possible to secure the signing of Keisuke Honda from CSKA Moscow.
Negotiations for the Japan international have proved to be tricky, with Milan claiming that CSKA's demands will force them to wait until the end of Honda's contract in January 2014.
According to Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani, though, Honda is also pushing for the move to go through.
"The only gift for the fans can be Honda," said Galliani of the 27-year-old.
"The player wants AC Milan and we'll try to take him until the last day good for the Champions League lists.
"We made an offer, if CSKA should drop their demands, Honda will come to Milan. Otherwise we'll wait for January."
