Rotimi Amaechi Be Damned! GEJ’s Minion, Nyesom Wike Declares Himself ‘Leader of PDP’ In Rivers

Follow @9jaLife The Minister of State for Education, Nyesom Wike has declared that he is now the leader of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Rivers State. Wike made this declaration at an event organised by the Grassroot Development Initiative held in Elele, Ikwere Local Government council, Rivers state over the weekend. Nyesom Wike advised the PDP chairman in the state, Felix Obuah to stand against the imposition of candidates come 2015. He also charged Governor Amaechi and his cohorts to challenge him if they can. In his words, "By the special grace of God, now that the leader of the party has been suspended, the Chairman has told me to be acting. So I am merely acting as directed by the chairman. But what you must know is that let nobody deceive us, as we are totally for PDP. Time will come when I will challenge them. Let them look me eyeball to eyeball. They should leave you alone. They should focus on me, because they know me; and because I know them, there is nothing they can do to me," Wike said. The Minister of state for Education also condemned the criticism of the state's Police Commissioner, Mbu J Mbu. He said the Commissioner is only being criticized for not toeing the line of Governor Amaechi: "It is surprising to me now that government is challenging the authority of the police because police is not doing their bidding. When they charge you and harass you on all sorts of things, that time police was doing well. Now that they are not harassing us anymore, they say police is not doing well." In another development, the PDP in the state has said it will go ahead with the evaluation assessment process of all public office holders in the state elected under the platform of the PDP despite the decision of Governor Amaechi to challenge the move in court. The PDP chairman, Felix Obuah said, "Every elected member under the Peoples Democratic Party owe allegiance to the party. We cannot elect people that will come and disgrace us.
