Just your collar!

No drama, no fuss. Let the collar do the job. This season, the hottest way to dress up neckline isn't a statement necklace or plunging neckline. It's all about the collar.

Collars are so hot right and almost every blouse has some kind of collar— be it lace, classic Peter Pan, or just fun and colourful. This is such a great trend that is reminiscent of a time when class in fashion was the absolute priority.

While buttoned-up collared shirts may be known for appearing officious, now, collars are breaking out of boardrooms and boarding schools and popping out everywhere.

This trend has suddenly become the simplest and perfect way to 'man-up' outfits. Initiated by Louis Vuitton, this trend was soon embraced by fashion giants such as Giambattista Valli, DKNY, Balenciaga and Marc Jacobs. Traditionally, only shirts were designed with collars. But now, such type of collar has been widely adopted in various types of apparel from dresses to long-sleeved T-shirts and from gorgeous evening dresses and cashmere coats.

The collars have become more and more popular among celebrity fashionistas—Alexa Chung, Abbie Cornish, and Bella Thorne are all buttoned-up in collared shirts, dresses and even necklaces.

While crisp white collars add instant polish to any look, colours, prints and metallic collars are offering a fresh ways to jazz up shirts and dresses. With Peter Pan collars whose design was inspired by the fiction Peter Pan, written by J.M. Barrie in the 1900s ranking as a favourite, the collar (usually made of silk) became popular in girl's clothing. In the 1960s, it became part of the women's clothing.

Along with this hot trend, detachable collars and collar necklaces are ranking up the shirts without collars. This fun and modern take is an awesome take on vintage style. The collar necklace is one kind of bib necklaces. It is currently an accessory of choice. These bold, updated statement necklaces have the power to crank up the volume on any outfit while remaining elegant, with just the right hint of sparkle. Fashion lovers are taking it to the next level by letting a rhinestone necklace peek from under a plain oxford button-up or layered with a thick cable-knit sweater, or play it sweet by topping a solid-colour crew neck with a pearl-adorned one.
