British PM's gay threat

British Prime Minister, David Cameron, says his government might consider cutting off aid to Nigeria over same sex marriage bill passed by the House of Representatives on Thursday.  The Senate had passed its own version in November 2011.

Comments:

Ayo: For one thing, I have been hearing of aids since I was young (now 50 years). So, it is no big deal if we lose what has not impacted positively on the lives of Nigerians. It is high time we started braving like the Chinese and Iranians who would take their destinies in their own hands. We should stop begging for aids that will only go into the pockets of few kleptomanias. They (West) can decide to marry their own children and their parents if they wish. They should not foist their nature and practices on everybody. Why can't they force our government to provide electricity, good roads etc?

Timmy: Nigerians must stand against this evil in our land. We should not refuse to disagree with the UK  on an issue like this,  which we know is not good for our system. If UK and any other countries practising this abominable act want to stop any help they think they are giving to us, they had better do that very fast.

Sina: I don't blame British Prime Minister. If not corruption, Nigeria should by now be giving aids to other countries, not the other way round. We don't need the aid of the sinners. It is not the National Assembly or executive that does not want gay marriage in Nigeria. It is the totality of Nigerians that don't want it. Britain should not fight us over that. They go ahead and give visa or resident permits to the gay people and let them go to Britain and be practising their gay system. The Nigerian government must not change its position on this. Period.

Dubai wedding

The Federal Government has redeployed the Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Petroleum Resources, Mr. Abdulazeez Musa, to an unnamed post.

Reports say the senior ministry official was moved from his position after the President got wind of a report that Musa organised a wedding for one of his children in Dubai.

Comments:

Brooklyn Allstar: The pot accusing kettle of being black. Madam Patience spent months in Europe for "rest" last year, she was welcomed back with jamborees. Why oga perm sec no fit do wedding for daughter in Dubai? When you have the loot, you have to flaunt it.

Take Dat: Almost everyone in government circle in Abuja knew of the wedding, date and venue before it took place. This is just a face saving measure due to the backlash that followed when it was reported that almost all politicians trooped en masse to Dubai to attend the wedding.

Waheed Adekunle: This is what all the so-called chief executives are doing, including ministers and governors.
