Don't Hoist Biafran Flag, Police To MASSOB Aug 29th 2012, 15:52 Don't Hoist Biafran Flag, Police Warn MASSOB
The Abia State Police Command has warned members of the Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) to desist from hoisting their flags in the area, saying that since government does not recognise the organisation, it should not be allowed to operate.
The Abia State Commissioner of Police, Ambrose Aisabor, who made this known in Aba, the commercial hub of the state, while addressing officers and men of Ndiegoro Division of the Nigeria Police during his maiden visit to the area, stated that no Nigerian law supported the existence of such group.
Aisabor stated that as far as he remained the commissioner of police, Abia State Command, it would always be unlawful for the group to organise any form of activity and that they would not be allowed to operate in the state in whatever form.
He said: "The activities of MASSOB are no longer welcomed in the state. It is an outlawed organisation. Government does not want them and police should not allow their members to be hoisting their flags in public places in the state."
