A year after a business mogul based in Osun State, Mr. Idowu Obembe was kidnapped and murdered by unidentified gunmen; his decomposed body has been reportedly found by the state police command in a forest believed to be kidnappers' den in Ilesa.
The State Police Public Relations Officer, (PPRO) ASP Folashade Odoro who disclosed this to newsmen yesterday said Obemebe, who was the Chief Executive Officer of Nobility Stores was murdered in a callous manner; promising that police would bring the culprits to book.
Folashade said: "already four suspects had been arrested in connection with Obembe's kidnapping and have been remanded in Ilesa prison custody by an Osogbo Magistrate court. Equally, on August 23, 2013, we apprehended another suspect, Gbadegeshin Ifeoluwa at Elere area, Apata, Ibadan.
His arrest led to the discovery of the kidnappers den." According to the police spokesperson, Gbadegeshin was the one who led a team of police detectives attached to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Osun State Police Command to the forest where Obembe's lifeless body was found.
She said Gbadegeshin is still being interrogated by the state police command for further clues on the matter and promised that as soon as investigations are completed, the suspects will be charged to court.
It was gathered from the police that the suspects had confessed to carrying out many kidnappings in the state.
Meanwhile, the remains of the business mogul has been buried by his relatives after being identified and evacuated from the forest.
