AGAIN, the Archbishop of the Metropolitan See of Lagos, Alfred Adewale Martins, has condemned homosexual practice, gay marriage and abortion, describing them as total aberration.
Martins spoke in Lagos Sunday through the Chaplain, Catholic Men Organisation (CMO), Rev. Fr. Daniel Nwankwo, during the announcement of Faith Convention 2013 with the theme, "The New Evangelisation – Go Make Disciples of all Nations," scheduled for October 3 to 5 at St. Leo's Catholic Church, Ikeja.
The cleric added that the church completely frowns at such vices as child abuse, domestic violence, corruption, and religious fanaticism (which infringes freedom of religion), among others that pervade the society today.
"It is because of these challenges confronting our nation today that we are organizing this convention with a view to bringing together all Christians in the archdiocese to fellowship together and work towards increasing their faith at this trying period.
"This event is also meant to activate in all the desire to engage in the new evangelism as well as draw out high profile, high net-worth men who are usually inactive in the church and CMO activities to attend this as their year of faith activity," he said.
He emphasized that the convention is intended to invite and win back to the Catholic fold members who have joined other faiths.
