Take a good long look at the check, you are not dreaming at all.
Yes, Floyd Mayweather Jr‘s check for winning his monumental fight against Mexican boxer Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez, netted the champ $40,870,000.
And that’s not everything. Pay-per-view numbers still haven’t been calculated, which means Mayweather could make off with closer to $100million. Mayweather earned that paycheck on September 14 after beating Alvarez in their fight at the MGM Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
The check already beats Mayweather’s previous record of $32million, earned at his fight last year against Miguel Cotto.
Also subtracted from the gross total of $41.5million was the $605,000 in tickets to the match that Mayweather footed for his friends and family.
Alvarez, though the loser of the fight, will get $5million just for showing up.
Mayweather is still undefeated, 45-0.
