Security agencies in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) have arrested 174 armed robbery suspects in Abuja between April and September.
This was disclosed by the FCT Police Commissioner, Femi Ogunbayode, in Abuja on Tuesday during the FCT Security Committee meeting chaired by the FCT Minister, Bala Mohammed.
The meeting was also attended by FCT Minister of State, Olajumoke Akinjide; Permanent Secretary, John Obinna Chukwu, as well as heads of security agencies in Abuja.
Ogunbayode further revealed that 604 live ammunitions were recovered from the suspects during the period, while arms recovered included 27 locally made pistols, three AK-47 riffles, one Lar riffle, 11 wooden and toy guns and one Joe Jeff pump action gun.
He also disclosed that 61 stolen vehicles were recovered and 32 armed robbery cases have so far been charged to court. One case of abduction was reported during the period.
