Gambo's transfer to Africaine: Pillars to get N48m
Jul 11th 2013, 23:00, by Our Reporter

Kano Pillars will earn N48 million ($300,000) from the transfer of striker Gambo Mohammed to Club Africaine, if the player eventually signs for the Tunisian outfit later this month.

SportingLife exclusively learnt from a source close to the club that a transfer fee of $300,000 (N48 million) has already been agreed between Pillars and Club Africaine.

"It is true that Gambo Mohammed will be joining Club Africaine of Tunisia. In fact, the deal has been sealed and Pillars is bound to smile home with a transfer fee of $300,000.

"The agent handling the deal Aminu Yussuf has arranged for the player to travel tonight (yesterday) for the medical exercise in Tunisia. So, I don't know why some people reported that Gambo had not joined the team. Yes, he has not travelled to meet the club executives but the transfer issue has been agreed and Pillars is happy and interested in the deal.

"Mind you, the other clubs that showed interest in signing the player said they could only afford $50,000 (N8 million) for the transfer fee compared with what Africaine offered.

"The only problem is that Gambo wants to play the return leg of the Africa Nations Championship away to Cote d'Ivoire and Pillars have agreed.

"That is the reason why he is travelling tonight (yesterday) to Tunisia to sort out the deal and come back to re-join his Super Eagles mates that will start camping in Abuja for the CHAN return leg," the source explained.
