International School, Lagos (ISL) and St. Joseph's Secondary School, Makurdi, Benue, yesterday qualified for the Boys singles final of the ongoing 15th Nestle Milo Secondary School Basketball championships in Lagos.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that International School, Lagos, defeated Rivers State University of Science and Technology (RSUST) International School, Port Harcourt, by 48-38, in a heated semi-final match to clinch their final ticket.

In the other semi final, St. Joseph's defeated Government Secondary School, Minna, Niger State by 26-22, to also book their place in the final.

Coach Ernest Ijeoma of International School, Lagos revealed after their qualification that his team had proven its capabilities in reaching the final of the championships.

He said that his team was underrated before the competition's grand finale, having narrowly qualified at the confluence final and promised that his team will put in more efforts to clinch the trophy.

The competition is expected to end today at the Indoor Sports Hall of the National Stadium, Lagos, with third-place matches in the boys and girls categories, as well as the Boys and Girls final matches.
