Follow @9jaLife Sitting In The Minna Hilltop Mansion He Built From His Salary As A Soldier, IBB Says Emergence Of APC Validates His Belief In A Two Party System Former Military President, Gen Ibrahim Babangida, said on Thursday that the emergence of All Progressive Congress (APC) had vindicated his position on a two-party system for Nigeria. Babangida told newsmen at his hilltop residence in Minna that he had proposed a two-party system for Nigeria but added he was criticised and vilified for the proposal. He said the emergence of APC was an indication that the nation was heading towards a two-party system, adding that APC would provide credible opposition and viable choice to the electorate. “I was a very good advocate of two parties. When I say two you said I am a soldier, now you have seen reason, I think I am happy.” Babangida, however, declined to answer the question as to  whether the political development would pose a problem for the PDP  by retorting:  "PDP or my party? Which one is my party? PDP was my party" and refused to comment further. On emergence of PDP governors' forum,  he said: "I read a column this week about many forums, but what of the ordinary man? It is his vote that determines everything in this country. “ We should not continue to waste our energy talking about appointments when you don't allow ordinary man to be involved. “The ordinary man does not know what is happening, you have not been able to ginger the ordinary man to believe in a cause to fight for. Unless we achieve that we still have  a lot to do." Babangida also stressed  the need  for the provision of sound education as the country’s major problem is education. He said that government and individuals must stand to contribute to educational development of the nation. Source Follow @9jaLife
