Lagos State Governor, Babatunde Raji Fashola, has commended ex- Super Eagles midfielder Mutiu Adepoju for his ingenuity, deep thinking and plan for the Lagos International Football Tournament, assuring him of government's partnership and support for the soccer initiative.
The competition is scheduled for July 25 to 28 at the Teslim Balogun Stadium. It will feature Ismaily SC of Egypt, Asante Kotoko of Ghana, RCD Espanyol of Spain and Kano Pillars will represent Nigeria.
Speaking on behalf of the Lagos State Governor at a briefing on Monday, Lagos State Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Wahid Oshodi, expressed the preparedness of the Lagos State Government to partner with Adepoju on the initiative through hosting the tournament.
According to him, the tournament has come at a time the nation is relishing the joy and excitement of Nigeria's victory at the 2013 Nations Cup; and the need to consolidate the gains and benefits of EKO 2012.
