Unsettled West Brom striker Peter Odemwingie has used Twitter to take a swipe at the midlands club. Odemwingie has followed up the statement he issued last night [Jan. 26] by claiming he wants to leave because the Baggies had previously doubted his commitment.
The Nigeria international is a target for QPR and yesterday had a transfer request rejected by Albion. Rangers have already had a £2 million bid turned down but sources close to West Brom expect them to make another offer before the transfer window closes on Thursday.
Odemwingie has come under fire from some Albion fans after making clear his desire to leave. He tweeted: ''I can understand the reaction of few Albion fans on my desire to leave the club. Real reason? Cos they once doubted my commitment.
Peter Odemwingie is facing a £70,000 fine after slamming West Brom for rejecting his transfer request. Odemwingie has accused Albion bosses of showing a lack of respect — and leaving him hurt and offended.
And he risked another club rap when he later unleashed a Twitter rant.
The striker delivered an angry response as QPR prepare an improved bid of £3.5million.
Odemwingie, 31, now faces a fine of two weeks' wages after the club confirmed he had breached rules by giving an unauthorised interview.
His statement said:
"I'm deeply hurt and in some ways offended by the lack of reciprocal common respect from the club management.
"I've not taken this decision lightly and would like the club to accept what is more than a reasonable offer from QPR."
He later tweeted: "I am crazy, ha-ha. Adviser text saying don't tweet. When I want to do something, I do it."
