Benue Woman Alleges Her Husband Was Hacked To Death By His Brothers For Being A Sorcerer

Follow @9jaLife A middle aged man,Vincent Igwe of Enyikpe Ulayi community in Ado local government area of Benue State has been allegedly murdered by his siblings for his alleged involvement in witchcraft and sorcery. Saturday Vanguard gathered from sources that the deceased who was killed few days ago was hacked to death by his nine brothers who accused him of being behind unusual  happenings and strange deaths in the family and community. The accused persons who were yesterday paraded before a Makurdi Chief Magistrate Court were alleged to have used machetes, knives and sticks to brutalize the victim who died from the injuries he sustained. According to the Police Prosecutor, Inspector Terzunge Kajo, the wife of the deceased, Mrs. Felicia Igwe had a few days ago reported at the Igumale Police Station that the accused persons who were allegedly led by Peter and Patrick Ebele conspired among themselves and pummeled her husband who died on the spot. After murdering their victim, the accused persons were also alleged to have matched to the home of one Chukwuma Ebere who they macheted and left him in a pool of his own blood thinking he had died. However their second victim is currently in coma and receiving medical attention at a public hospital in Otukpo. Terzungwe disclosed further that during Police investigations, all the nine brothers were arrested and they allegedly confessed of their involvements in the alleged crimes. Meanwhile, at the mention of the case in Court, the Police Prosecutor told the court that investigations into the matter was still ongoing and asked for an adjournment of the case. No plea was taken for want of jurisdiction, the presiding Chief Magistrate Theresa Wergba adjourned the matter to the eighth of next month for further mention and ordered that the accused persons be remanded in prison custody.
