SENATE Leader Victor Ndoma-Egba on Wednesday said he had awarded scholarships to over 540 indigent undergraduate and post-graduate students in Cross River State Central Senatorial District.
Ndoma-Egba said the scholarships were geared toward boosting education in the area.
He said this after presenting Christmas and New Year gifts to people in the six local governments making up the senatorial district.
He said 420 undergraduate and 120 post-graduate students got the scholarships.
The lawmaker added that youths from his constituency had also benefited from the free computer programme he instituted.
He said 660 people from the six council areas would benefit from the gesture, while another batch would be visited during the Easter period.
The Senator, who said the Central Senatorial District of the state was united, said he would ensure that the constituency continues to benefit from infrastructural facilities.
