Nigerian Embassy in Berlin was attacked with paint bombs on Wednesday night by activists – 120 members of the "Refugee Protest March in Berlin campaign" demonstrated against the practice of deporting asylum seekers from Germany.
Ten of the activists who participated in the embassy occupation were arrested by the police as well as 13 activists who protested outside - in front of the embassy.
Amongst the ones arrested inside the embassy were Rex Osa from the VOICE Refugee Forum as well as activists of the Caravan for the Rights of refugees and migrants, and activists of the protest tent.
The police took away two cameras from the press team of the protest march / protest camp and one tablet computer.
One person was beaten. The arrested were taken to cells in Tempelhofer Damm.
They had to undergo identity control. 10 of them are now together in one cell, others are being kept in single cells.
The police also brutalized the activists protesting outside the embassy building by using pepper spray. Among activists arrested in front of the embassy building is Mbolo Yufanyi who was brutalized.
His arrest took place after he entered the building to meet the leader of the police group to denounce the police and come out again. He had to be treated in an ambulance car.
According to camp activists the number of persons arrested at the embassy protest and during the demonstration is 23 altogether.

Embassy spokesman said that on Monday, 120 activists, members of the "Refugee Protest March in Berlin campaign" gathered in front of the Nigerian Embassy to demonstrate against the practice of deporting asylum seekers from Germany.
According to him, 14 of the activists illegally entered to the embassy, in order to "occupy'' it as part of the protest march. He explained that those who entered the premises were later ejected by security officials while 25 of the protesters were temporarily detained and later released.

The spokesman stated that the demonstrators accused the embassy workers of "working closely with the German state to ensure that the processing of the largest number of deportations from Africa came from Nigeria''.
He emphasised that his agency would, however, investigate if there was a connection between the attempted occupation of the embassy on Monday [Oct. 15] and the recent paint attack on Wednesday [Oct. 17] night to the early hours of Thursday [Oct 18].
