TICKER: "There really is no such thing as closure" – Bishop T.D Jakes meets with Trayvon Martin's parents
Sep 25th 2012, 17:05

On Sunday, the family of a Florida teen who was shot and killed by an overzealous neighborhood watchman was at the megachurch, The Potter's House.

Trayvon Martin's parents attended services at the The Potter's House with their other son. The family was in North Texas for a benefit for the Justice for Trayvon Martin Foundation which was held on Saturday evening.

Speaking words of encouragement, Bishop T.D. Jakes pointed out that there really is no such thing as "closure," and Sybrina Fulton, Trayvon's mother agreed with the Bishop.

Fulton said, "I know that this will never end for us because Trayvon is not going to come back. But what we do hope is that we can help somebody else's family out and I just also want you to know that God is in control."

In February, when George Zimmerman shot and killed Trayvon Martin, it caused a huge controversy about Florida;s "stand your ground" laws. The media was also abuzz because the case caused a lot of racial tension. What sparked the media's attention was that Zimmerman was not arrested after shooting and killing Trayvon Martin. He was eventually arrested and charged with  second-degree murder.

Zimmerman is currently out on bail and is awaiting trial.
